Bannack Days

The third weekend in July. This fun-packed weekend is a wonderful time for the whole family to visit Bannack and celebrate pioneer life and Bannack's glory days. See our Bannack Days Schedule of Events. 

Living History Weekend

Relive the excitement of the Gold Rush era in Montana at our annual Living History Weekend at Bannack State Park in September. This three day event will depict the first 20 years of Bannack’s history. Discover what the old west was really like! 

Bannack Ghost Walks

Friday and Saturday night, typically the third week or fourth week of October (please call ahead for the exact dates). The Bannack Ghost Walks are live reenactments of significant events throughout the history of Bannack. These spooky reenactments are sure to entertain you. 


Activities

There is so much to see and do at Bannack. Click on any of the activities below to learn more.

Tours: Our self guided tours are offered year round and Allows you to spend as much time exploring what you want, where you want. Booklets are provided. Guided tours are available during the summer months and by special request. Knowledgeable guides will take you behind the scenes and answer your questions along the way.

Gold Panning: Available during the summer months. Learn how placer miners found their gold. Who knows... maybe you'll strike it rich!

Saturdays in the Park: Every Saturday during summer months, a special program is held. The varied events might include music, star-gazing, poetry or lecture/demonstrations. View our upcoming Saturday Schedule of Events.

Camping: Spend the night near the ghost town. Camping is available year 'round. Check out the tipi during the summer season!

Visitor Center: The Visitor Center is only open during the summer season. There you will find information about Bannack and the surrounding areas of Montana. Also available are regional and historical books, Bannack Days posters and souvenirs.

Ice Skating: Available on weekends during the winter season. Come and ice skate on an old dredge pond among frosted willows.

Junior Ranger Program: Available for kids ages 5-12. An educational, fun, and interesting activity for kids.

Scouting Bannack: Available for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts to earn the Scouting Bannack patch. There are many activities to choose from that can be done individually or as a troop.
