Beaverhead Rock State Park is a primitive, undeveloped state park. Take Montana
41 between Dillon and Twin Bridges to view this rock landmark resembling a beaver's
head, recognized by Sacagawea in August, 1805 as she traveled with the Corps of
Discovery. Site can be viewed and photographed from a distance but is not directly
accessible.
Note that the shape of the rock looks like a beaver's head sticking out of water
while it is swimming.
